With over 17,000 islands, Indonesia spoils you for choice in terms of places to visit and things to do. Yes, that’s right, Indonesia is more than just the stunning island of Bali.

So, what awaits you in Indonesia? I’ve got the answers, so keep reading to get inspired for your trip to Indonesia.

Things to Do in Indonesia

As I’ve mentioned, there’s a lot to do in Indonesia. Whether you’re planning to spend 10 days in Bali or want to spread your time out in Indonesia more evenly, here’s what to expect.

Hit the Beach

Boasting so many islands, Indonesia naturally has many breathtaking beaches. But of course, Bali takes the cake when it comes to some of the top beaches in Indonesia. Some of the best beaches in Bali include Jimbaran Beach and Kelingking Beach.

Visit a Rice Terrace

Ubud’s incredibly lush green rice terraces are among the first things you’ll see if you Google things to do in Indonesia. Set in picturesque valleys, rice terraces offer incredible views and opportunities for cultural experiences and samplings of local dishes like Saté and Babi Guling.

Tour the Gili Islands

Bali is pretty cool but is not the only island worth visiting. The Gili Islands are some of the most idyllic places on earth. Its crystal clear turquoise waters and pristine white sand beaches make it the perfect place to relax.

Explore Indonesia’s Caves

Did you know that Indonesia has some of the best and most complex cave systems in the world? It’s an absolute gem for anyone looking for an adventurous activity, as you can tour the cave, go diving, or even just enjoy a cool swim.

Shop at a Local Market

To really immerse yourself in Indonesian culture, visit a local market. You can find all sorts of souvenirs and trinkets and sample some delicious cuisine. I highly suggest bringing your best bargaining skills with you.
