Whenever you are reading this article, the sun will be setting somewhere in the world. What is it about sunsets that fascinate and delight us to such an extent? Particularly when on vacation there are few things more enjoyable than finding that perfect spot (ideally with a drink in hand) to experience a sunset that moves through all of the colors of the rainbow.
So where are the best sunsets in the world? This will, of course, depend on the time of year as well as your definition of the best sunset. Does your best sunset need to be over water? With a stunning foreground? Set off by palm trees? There are many options when it comes to perfect sunset.
The following is in no particular order as I think it is almost impossible to rank sunsets. It is also horribly biased at this point as the majority of these sunsets are in North America and Europe. But I am building up my Asian, Central and Southern America sunset articles and they will be added in as time goes by – the beauty of the internet!
So here they are, my 17 places to see the best sunsets in the world.

I’m with Sbu, african sunsets are spectacular. Try Maputo, Dar es Salaam, Luanda, Cape Town, Meroe at Sudan and especially an african savanna. You mention Glasgow - heading south to Gourock the sunset over the Clyde can be really stunning.
