Reims, the unofficial capital of the Champagne region, invites you to experience its historical charm and luxury accommodations. This charming city is filled with cobblestone streets and Roman architecture, including the famed Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral.
But where will you sleep? Unsurprisingly, some luxurious hotels in Reims, France, are the perfect companion to champagne tastings. But there are also some great mid-range options, which I’ve included in this article.
I have visited Reims twice, so I feel well versed in providing you with an overview of the best places to stay in the capital of Champagne!
Best Hotels in Reims France
Location is key when it comes to choosing the perfect hotel. I’ll divide this article into hotels in the heart of Reims city center and those a little farther afield. I would recommend staying in downtown Reims as it has a very walkable town center. The one exception to this is the hotels Les Crayeres which is not downtown but is a short walk from some of the most well known champagne houses in Reims.
NB: Some of the best known champagne houses in Reims (Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Ruinart etc) are located a good 20 minute walk from these downtown Reims hotels. There are only a couple of champagne houses in downtown Reims (Casanove, Pol Couronne). The most famous names are on the edge of downtown Reims and in nearby Epernay.

Best Western Premier Hotel de la Paix is my top choice for where to stay in Reims. I like this hotel so much I have stayed twice. Here is why:
- fantastic location less than a ten-minute walk from Reims station and in the centre of Reims.
- extremely friendly staff. I lost my wallet on one stay and a staff member later went back and claimed it for me at the train station and sent it back to me
- very comfortable stylish modern rooms
- nice bar with lots of champagne options

- charming indoor courtyard for both breakfast and drinks
Hotel de la Paix is 5 star service at a 4 star price. I think it is outstanding value for money.

If the reason you are coming to Reims is to attend an event at Parc Des Expositions then this is the hotel for you. I attended an event at the Parc and it is a good 20 minute taxi ride from the center of Reims. And if you are leaving at the end of an event it is hard to get a taxi.
This is a nice Mercure that was renovated relatively recently. A big plus is the outdoor swimming pool. This plus the price makes the Mercure Reims Parc Des Expositions a good choice for families.
