Weather when visiting Vegas in August

I must be honest — Las Vegas is scorching in August. It’s sunny, dry, and the heat is quite intense. With average high temperatures ranging from 99°F to 104°F (37°C-40°C), you’ll definitely feel the burn.

But on the bright side, rainfall is minimal. There might be the occasional rain shower, but it is usually short-lived and a welcome break from the sun. Also, most establishments are air-conditioned, and you can always cool off with a refreshing dip in the hotel pool.

What to Pack for Las Vegas in August

If you’re planning on visiting Las Vegas in August, you’ll want to pack smart and light to beat the Nevada sun. Think lightweight shirts, sundresses, skirts, shorts, and anything that won’t weigh you down in the heat. Don’t forget a pair of jeans for those air-conditioned casinos and restaurants. And if you plan on exploring, bring some comfortable walking shoes.

Sun protection is a must, so don’t skimp on sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and anything else you need to stay safe and comfortable on those toasty days. And if you plan on hitting up some pools, remember your bathing suit and sandals.

The Fremont Street experience

While casual attire is generally acceptable in most shows and restaurants, some fancier establishments may call for something a little dressier. So, pack a cocktail dress, suit, or dinner jacket if you want to feel extra fancy.

Just remember, in Vegas, anything goes. So, pack what makes you feel comfortable and confident, and get ready to have some fun in the sun!

The Las Vegas Arts District, also known as 18b, is a vibrant cultural hub in downtown Las Vegas. The district spans approximately 18 blocks and has numerous galleries, studios, shops, food trucks, theatres, and restaurants. One of the most popular events in the Arts District is First Friday, a monthly arts festival on the first Friday of each month.

The festival showcases over 80 indoor venues that open their doors to display an eclectic mix of art, food, drinks, and shopping. Outside, the streets transform into a bustling market where local artists and artisans sell their crafts, and musicians and street performers provide fun-filled entertainment.

Where to Stay in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is not really about boutique hotels. I am sure there are some but honestly to have the full Vegas experience I am breaking with my boutique positioning and saying go for the full-on decadent 5-star experience – I consider it almost a tourist attraction to do this.

Here are my top choices on the Las Vegas strip:

For European glamour and top-end luxury, I loved my stay at The Palazzo.
