What makes this city special is the variety of activities on offer that cater to every type of traveller. From shopping and alligator interactions to museum-hopping, there’s something for everyone. Not to mention, it’s a foodie’s paradise that offers countless delectable seafood establishments. Beach-bumming is simply one (excellent) way to spend your time here. Let’s dive right in!

1. Crab Island

This beautiful slice of paradise attracts water lovers by the boatful! Yes, this popular sandbar spot can only be reached via boat and it’s a well-known summertime destination for locals and visitors. The shallow, wadable waters make it a spot people can hang out at. You can take the Crab Island Shuttle or take a Crab Island Dolphin Cruise.

For those who want to get active, rent a paddleboard from a local vendor, or even enjoy some fly fishing.

Although most people pack their own food and drinks, Crab Island does have floating food vendors and restaurants occasionally, but finding out beforehand may be worthwhile.
