This is a small island located in San Francisco Bay, about 1.25 miles offshore. It served many purposes over the years, the most well-known being the site of a federal prison, which operated from 1934 to 1963.

Bixby Creek Bridge is located on the Pacific Coast Highway and is often regarded as the gateway to Big Sur. It rises 260 feet above a steep canyon carved by Bixby Creek.

Located in the magnificent Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in the valley. Given its size, it’s easy to see from far away.
