A Montenegro Day Trip is a perfect item on your Dubrovnik travel itinerary! Several companies offer convenient bus based day tours from Dubrovnik – Viator has a good reasonably priced option. It can be quite a long day eg 10 hours but it is well worth visiting this beautiful area – and perhaps considering a dedicated stay in either Kotor or Sveti Stefan!
Dubrovnik is right down the bottom of Croatia which makes it a very short ride to cross the border and check out these oh so pretty Adriatic seaside towns. The trips normally visit Herceg Novi which is nice enoough and then to Budva. For me one of the two key highlights was the stunning little town of Kotor.
Everything about Kotor is gorgeous. Its location on the bay of Kotor with gorgeous tiny islands such as St George, the lovely old town and then the amazing views. It has been described as the fjord of Montenegro and it is as beautiful as the Norwegian fjords. The bay itself is a world heritage site. Kotor is about two hours in to the Montenegro day trip.
Most Montenegro day trips will allow you to exit the bus and explore the old town. I would highly recommend that you take the time and energy to climb up and see the view over the bay of Kotor.
Then the Montenegro day trip head to Sveti Stefan. Sveti Stegan is an island which is accessed by one small road. The entire island became a resort in the 1960s and was frequented by the rich and famous. It is now owned by the Aman resorts and well worth a visit.
